Q:I’m getting married and I would like to know how far in advance I would need to book an appointment with you ?

A:I would suggest booking up in advance , I take bookings at least 12 months in advance , summer weddings get extremely busy as do Christmas weddings .

Q:At what stage do you work on a trial run for hair and makeup ?

A:I would normally do wedding trials 6 weeks before the wedding day , by then you would have your wedding accessories/ veil , an idea of hair styles you like and also make up looks.

Q:Do I have to have a trial ?

A:Yes , I would definitely need to do a trial for the bride , there is an option for bridesmaids / other members of the bridal party to have hair and makeup on the day only.

Q. When do I need to book in for a consultation and trial?

A:I would suggest once you have placed your booking to arrange a trial date ASAP.

Q:I’m getting married in a few weeks time , would you be available?

A: you can always contact me at any time to see if I am available.

Q:How far do I travel ?

A:I travel all over the surrey areas and around some south London locations and Sussex areas

Q:Do you come to the venue on the morning of the wedding ?

A: yes I can come to your chosen venue on the morning of the wedding and for the trial.

Q:How many people can I work on in one morning ?

A: Depending on the time of the wedding I can normally work with around 4/5 people

Q:Do I work on my own or do I have a team of hair and makeup artist?

A: I work on my own on the day but I can arrange extra make up artists if I find some available.

Q:What products do I use ?

A: I used a range of luxury cosmetics Mac Cosmetics and Charlotte Tilbury along with Pixi skin care range

Q:I may have a spray tan before the wedding day will this be ok with the makeup application?

A: it should be no problem to have a spray tan a few days before your wedding , I can make the foundation a little darker if it needs to be as the finish of the foundation will be the same texture .

Q:Do you attach hair pieces or provide them ?

A: yes I can attach hair pieces as long as they are real hair and not synthetic hair , I do not stock them but I know a few places who provide good quality hair.

Q:Can you attach lashes on the day ?

A: yes , it is a good idea to have a second set to try for the trial run aswell.

Q:Who would you work on first on a morning of a wedding ?

A: I work on the bridal members first , mother of bride or the bridesmaids , you don’t want to be ready to early.

Q:Do I need to have freshly washed hair for it to be styled ?

A: for hair up styles it is a good idea to have it washed the day before , if you are having it blow dried then washed hair is fine and damp so I can start the blow dry.

Q:Do you provide make up I can purchase from you on the day for my bridal make up bag ?

A: I can write down all the products you need to have for the day of the wedding , I can send this to you a week before the day.

Q:Is there an extra charge for bank holidays and Sunday’s ?

A: only a charge for bank holidays this is an extra £50 on top .

Q:How do I book?

A: first is to send off your enquiry to me through the contact page , I can then send you on the booking forms and terms and conditions for you to look through . If you are happy with the forms please sign and send back to myself along with a deposit of £50.00 ( this will be deducted on the trial day )

Q:How and when do I pay a deposit or final payments?

A: I normally ask for all final payments to be paid 28 days before the day or i take cash on the day before I start the work . Trial payments are due also on the trial and a further deposit is made at the end of the trial . Please ask to see the T&C’s for more information. Payment can be made via PayPal please let me know and I can forward you on the link to make payments.

Q:What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

A: please let me know ASAP if you need to cancel the booking Cancellations If for some reason you decide to cancel your booking, the following charges will become payable. The percentages are the proportion of the total fees for the wedding services (including bridesmaids & others) that you booked with us.Up to 8 weeks before the wedding 30% Up to 28 Days before the wedding 50% Up to 14 days before the wedding 100%* Cancellations are only valid via email, verbal cancellations are not accepted. Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances will be taken into account. However only an apportion will be returned at the discretion of Makeup by Melissa Melody but are not guaranteed.

Q:What happens if you can’t make the wedding morning due to illness ?

A: in the unlikely event Melissa-melody is unable to attend the wedding date she will do her upmost to find another hair and makeup artist of similar standards for your day and all monies paid for the wedding date only will be refunded.

Q:How do you take payments?

A: I take debit card only payments , online transfers and cash only no cheques.
